I love to cook. Love it. I find it very cathartic.
Unfortunately, since moving out of my parents' house over seven years ago I have not really had the chance to cook the way I used to when I was in my early twenties. This is due to the lack of money to keep the neccessary ingredients on hand, and, until recently, not really having anyone to cook for; cooking for yourself is not the same.
Well since Niels & I have moved in together I've been trying to cook a lot more often than I did when living alone. But due to numerous factors, money, problems finding good ingredients, lack of decent counter space, time, I've been sticking to a few of my "standard" dishes (lentils, various veggies and pasta dishes).
A couple weeks ago I began a subscription to the print edition of the New York Times and the DiningOut section that comes out on Wednesdays has made me antsy to branch out. So, I'm hoping that after the ride this weekend, I'll be able to spend more time getting in touch with my inner domestic goddess.
I'll keep you posted to how well it works out.
