Will you buy me a castle??
After visiting the castle we headed to Veronica's for the afternoon.
When Niels was little he was best friends with her son Martin.
Unbeknownst to us Martin was home for spring holiday and joined us for
lunch. It had been many years since Niels and Martin had seen
each other and from their reactions they had changed quite a bit from
the last time they had seen each other. They were no longer schoolboys
but now young men.
There were a couple of akward moments during lunch because of the
language barrier. Veronica does not speak English, yet would talk to me
as if I understood her. Niels and Martin acted as translators and we
were able to have lovely conversations with much help from them.
After lunch we drove into Dusseldorf, I think we were going to go to
the art museam, but that fell by the wayside and we walked around the
city instead. We stopped by Eva's apartment but she was not home, but
Lily (Eva & Martin's sister) was, she too was looking for Eva, so
instead we went to the flea market that was being held at one of the
shopping centers until Eva returned home.
After making our way through the tables of goods, Niels and I said good
bye to Martin and Veronica and with Lily headed back to Eva's apartment.
