So angry I can see stars.

California Supreme Court Upholds Ban on Gay Marriage

How a vote to withhold rights from a population can stand boggles my mind.

I wish I could be more eloquent in my anger but the only thing I can think of saying is:
F*ck you California.

Had an awesome four day weekend. Niels and I had a co-worker/friend of mine and her family over for lunch on Saturday. As expected Ginger hid under the covers the whole time they were over. But Grey was out being a social butterfly, becoming fast friends with my friend's 2 1/2 year old son. We were a bit concerned at first because Grey's never been around small children and we were unsure how she'd be, especially since she often likes to play bite. But we had nothing to worry about, Grey was awesome with S and they  had a wonderful time romping around the apartment together. Niels and I think because Grey's still very much a kitten so she was excited to have someone around close to her age to play with.

Sunday Niels & I went to the Arlington Cinema n Drafthouse to see Monsters vs Aliens. We were the only people there without kids, which was not unexpected since it was a noon showing. The movie was really cute and I recommend it.

Unfortunately, I completely changed my sleep cycle over the weekend, which has become the norm lately, and I'm exausted today and feel like I'm walking in a haze. By the time I recover it'll be the weekend and I'll screw it up again.

Am slightly hyper, not sure if it's the Woodchuck or that I just watched Glee on Fox and LOVED IT!! Yes, I was a chorus geek, a totally uncool and very unpopular member (I think my uptightedness had something to do with not being liked by the cool kids, whatev), but loved, loved, loved singing.

Anyways, a brief update on things.

Semester's over and finally got all my grades, straight As. I rock thank you very much. My first semester EVER of getting straight As, I'm stoked.

Got a mole removed yesterday from the side of my head, wasn't too bad, novocaine's a wonderful thing. Plus the way my hair falls, you can't see the nasty scar-to-be.

Still totally in love with the new tattoo. I love having one that I can see on a regular basis. A friend is working on a knitting inspired one for me that I'm hoping to get done this summer.

Have read Hellboy: Seed of Destruction, John Constantine Hellblazer: Reasons to Be Cheerful, and B.P.R.D.: Hollow Earth & Other Stories, over the past week and loved all of them. Niels had Hellboy, but got the other two when we were in Old Town two Sundays ago and discovered a small, but awesome comic bookstore on King Street.

Finally, I wants one:

But I'm not sure how the kitties would feel about it...

Little G loves bird watching, hearing her get her "bird voice" going is hysterical, because the eeh-ehh-ehh sounds she makes are all over the place. Don't bother her when she's got this intense look of concentration going on otherwise she'll yell at you. It's also funny to see how small she can make herself.

I finished with all things school related for the semester, Friday evening after sending in my final paper for TRED 207 (Teaching & Learning II). It feels so good to be done with classes, reading and the work, it's like a big weight's been lifted off my shoulders. Summer session starts July 6th, and it's going to be insane with classes three hours a night, four nights a weeks, so I'm going to enjoy this free time as much as possible.

Unfortunately, an unwelcome end of semester tradition struck and I got sick. Niels and I had a perfect Sunday together, but the whole time we were out and about my throat was scratchy, a tell tale sign that something was coming. And it did, Sunday night/Monday morning around 4:30 am I woke with such a bad sore throat that I couldn't sleep. I spent almost all of yesterday in bed sleeping (and being watching over by the kitty cats, it was very sweet).

I'm feeling better today, but moving a little slowly. I think it's going to be another low key early evening (I went to bed around 9:30 last night and missed the season finale of Castle that's how crappy I felt), and am hoping to be in tip top shape by tomorrow.

Got this today, tattoo number five. It's been far, far too long since my last tattoo, almost eight years, so I was especially excited to get it done.

Fingers crossed, it won't take another eight years to get tattoo number six, I'm hoping sometime in the next few months to add to the collection.

Last night was my last TRED 204 (Perspectives in American Education) class of the semester. While I'm glad to be done with classes until July, I'm going to miss the discussions we had in that class. But it feels so nice to be free for the next two months. Granted I still have a paper due on Friday for TRED 207 (Teaching & Learning II), also a VERY good class, but I'm not too worried about it since it's only three pages.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to put in any full time hours at work. But the upside is that I'll be able to spend LOTS of time exercising,  I've gained a ton of weight since coming back from China and look like poo, and get back into studying German.

Now back to work.

A well deserved rest after making progress on the Clapotis. The life of a knitting kitty is a hard one.
